Brady PAC Endorses Tough-on-Crime Candidate JoAnna Mendoza for Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 6, 2026 —  Today, Brady PAC, the political arm of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence  (“Brady”), announced its endorsement of Iraq and Afghanistan veteran JoAnna Mendoza for Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District. Mendoza, who served in the Navy and the Marines, is running on a public safety agenda in a battleground district that will determine the U.S. House of Representatives majority.

“Arizona voters understand that safety isn’t about extremes, it’s about responsibility, accountability, and common-sense. JoAnna Mendoza knows that we can respect responsible gun ownership while still doing more to keep firearms out of dangerous hands. She believes in enforcing our current laws, preventing violence before it happens, and bringing Arizonans together around shared values, including the safety of all children. Unlike Juan Ciscomani, JoAnna Mendoza is tough on crime, and she will help build the safer America we all deserve,” said Kris Brown, President of Brady PAC.

As a Brady PAC endorsed candidate, Mendoza backs policies that the American people overwhelmingly support including universal background checks, secure firearm storage, enforcement of existing laws to prevent illegal gun trafficking, and investments in community violence intervention programs.

Brady PAC will mobilize grassroots supporters and resources this cycle in support of candidates who will advance common-sense gun violence prevention policies, strengthen public safety, and stand up to the gun lobby’s deadly agenda.
