WASHINGTON, D.C., April 29, 2026 — Today, Brady PAC, the political arm of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (“Brady”), announced its endorsement of national gun violence prevention leader and former Montgomery County school board member Matt Post for Maryland House District 14.
This announcement is a part of Brady PAC’s long-term strategy to build lasting gun violence prevention majorities at every level of government. With federal action on public safety often stalled, Brady PAC is prioritizing state legislatures, including the Maryland Assembly, as the primary battlegrounds for enacting life-saving reforms.
“Matt Post represents the next generation of leadership that Maryland and our country desperately need. Having come of age in a generation defined by the threat of gun violence in schools, Matt refused to accept it as normal. From his service on the Montgomery County school board to his work in the national gun violence prevention movement, Matt has consistently delivered results. He will bring that same urgency and commitment to the Maryland House,” said Kris Brown, President of Brady PAC.
Matt Post was an original Executive Council member of Team ENOUGH, Brady’s youth-led initiative. In this role, Post helped galvanize a generation of advocates — often referred to as Generation Lockdown – turning collective trauma into sustained civil engagement and policy advocacy after the 2018 Parkland shooting. Post also has a distinguished record in public education and labor advocacy, demonstrating a consistent ability to find meaningful solutions for Marylanders.
Brady PAC will mobilize grassroots supporters this cycle in support of candidates who will advance common-sense gun violence prevention policies, strengthen public safety, and stand up to the gun lobby’s deadly agenda.

Founded thanks to the leadership of Republicans Jim and Sarah Brady, Brady PAC elects gun violence prevention leaders up and down the ballot who will enact life-saving policies and hold the gun industry accountable. It upholds the ideals championed by its partner Brady, the nation’s oldest gun violence prevention organization.
