Today, Brady PAC, the political arm of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (“Brady”), announced its endorsement of Nevada Assemblymember Sandra Jauregui to be the next Lieutenant Governor of Nevada. Jauregui is a survivor of the 1 October mass shooting in 2017 at the Route 91 festival in Las Vegas, the deadliest in modern American history, and has become one of the nation’s boldest and most effective leaders on gun violence prevention.
“Sandra Jauregui has turned unimaginable tragedy into extraordinary leadership,” said Kris Brown, President of Brady and Board Chair of Brady PAC. “Brady PAC is honored to endorse Sandra for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada, a position in which she will continue to lead with courage and compassion. Her lived experience, her legislative record, and her clarity on the urgency of this fight to prevent future gun violence makes her exactly the leader Nevada needs right now.”
Since entering the Nevada Assembly, Jauregui has led the passage of lifesaving measures including a secure storage law and policies focused on keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals, including an Extreme Risk Protection Order law in 2019 that also banned the kinds of bump stocks used in the Las Vegas attack. Further, she has consistently advocated for legislation that would strengthen background checks, help keep firearms out of the hands of young people, and prohibit firearms in sensitive places such as polling locations.
Brady PAC will mobilize grassroots supporters and make strategic investments this cycle on behalf of candidates who are committed to championing gun violence prevention policies and safer communities.

It upholds the ideals championed by its partner Brady, the nation’s oldest gun violence prevention organization.
