Brady PAC Endorses Dave Min for Congress

WASHINGTON – Brady PAC today announced its endorsement of gun violence prevention leader Dave Min for the U.S. House of Representatives, for California’s Forty-Seventh Congressional District. The Orange County district is one of the country’s premiere swing seats in the country and will play a critical role in deciding who controls the House of Representatives next Congress.

Min, a state senator representing Orange County, has long led in the California Senate on a number of gun violence prevention initiatives. He is running for the swing seat vacated by Katie Porter, against a NRA “A” rated “pro-gun” candidate.

“Dave Min is a true champion for gun safety,” said Ashley Lantz, executive director of Brady PAC. “During his tenure in the State Senate, Dave has not only voted 100 percent for gun safety measures, he has authored key groundbreaking legislation around gun storage, gun dealer oversight and safety protocols, and ending gun shows on state property. He’s ready to take that fight to Washington, to ensure a safer future for our children and grandchildren.”

One of Min’s focuses in the California State House has been cracking down on bad actors engaged in the business of selling firearms. Among Min’s numerous accomplishments in leading on gun violence prevention legislation are bills that require gun dealer training, stricter rules on gun dealer insurance and surveillance, and he is currently leading a bill to ensure reporting on gun dealer inspections. Meanwhile, his opponent, Scott Baugh opposes legislation that would hold the gun industry accountable, putting more and more Americans at risk.

Brady PAC, the political arm of Brady, was created in 2018 to counter the gun industry lobby’s dark money Super PACs. Brady PAC endorses gun violence prevention champions who support common-sense gun safety policies, including universal background checks, safe storage, and a ban on new assault weapons.
