WASHINGTON, D.C., March 17, 2026 — Today, Brady PAC, the political arm of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (“Brady”), announced its endorsement of Representative Brian Fitzpatrick for re-election to Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District. The endorsement highlights Fitzpatrick’s consistent, bipartisan leadership in championing common-sense legislation to protect children and communities from gun violence.

Brian Fitzpatrick’s commitment to gun violence prevention is shaped by personal experience and professional expertise. He understands the toll of gun violence, having lost a family member – a dedicated NYPD officer – in a shooting. As a former FBI Special Agent embedded with U.S. Special Forces in Iraq, Fitzpatrick possesses an unparalleled understanding of the dangers posed by weapons of war in civilian spaces.
During his time in office, Fitzpatrick has proven that responsible gun ownership and public safety go hand-in-hand. He has worked across party lines to advance common-sense gun violence prevention policies, including championing lifesaving legislation to strengthen background checks and other legislation to keep firearms out of the hands of dangerous individuals, including closing the boyfriend loophole. Fitzpatrick also led a bipartisan coalition on passage of the landmark Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, and subsequently demanded answers when the current administration cut funding for programs under the Act, including resources for school-based mental health professionals.
