Brady PAC Endorses Amber Goodwin for Austin City Council, Ayaan Moledina for Round Rock ISD School Board

National gun violence prevention PAC launches first ever local endorsements to elect
movement leaders to office

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 29, 2026 —  Today, Brady PAC, the political arm of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence  (“Brady”), announced its endorsement of national gun violence prevention leaders Amber Goodwin for Austin City Council and Ayaan Moledina for the Round Rock ISD School Board, as part of its first-ever slate of local endorsements focused on electing movement leaders to office.

This announcement is a part of Brady PAC’s long-term strategy to build lasting gun violence prevention majorities at every level of government, starting in local communities where public safety is shaped every day.

“Amber Goodwin and Ayaan Moledina represent the future leadership of Texas. They are part of a new generation of leaders who understand that public safety requires all of us, along with strong local policies, robust community investments, and accountability mechanisms that actually protect people. Amber and Ayaan have long led in the gun violence prevention movement, and now they’re stepping up to serve their communities in office. Brady PAC is proud to endorse Amber Goodwin and Ayaan Moledina for local office,” said Kris Brown, President of Brady PAC.

Amber Goodwin, a candidate for Austin City Council District 1, is a nationally recognized public safety advocate, founder of Community Justice Action Fund, and a leading voice on community-based violence prevention and racial justice. Her leadership has helped shape national conversations on how to reduce gun violence through community investment and evidence-based solutions. Her campaign brings that expertise to Austin, where she is focused on building a safer, more equitable city for all residents.

Ayaan Moledina’s candidacy for the Round Rock ISD School Board reflects the growing leadership of Generation Lockdown – a generation who has come of age in an era defined by gun violence – in demanding and delivering safer communities. Moledina is a leader on Brady’s Team ENOUGH Executive Council, helping mobilize young people to take meaningful action on gun violence prevention. His federal, state, and local leadership advocacy roles have included championing mental health reforms and providing greater support and services to students. A former Round Rock ISD student himself, Moledina would be the first South Asian elected to the Board of Trustees.

Brady PAC will mobilize grassroots supporters this cycle in support of candidates who will advance common-sense gun violence prevention policies, strengthen public safety, and stand up to the gun lobby’s deadly agenda.
