WASHINGTON – Today, Brady PAC, the political arm of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, has announced a six figure digital ad campaign strategically targeting the Philly suburbs of Pennsylvania to turn persuadable voters out for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Pennsylvania, according to recent polling, is within the margin of error and will be decisive to the outcome of the 2024 presidential election. Joe Biden won the Keystone State by just 80,555 votes in 2020.
The ads tout both Harris’ and Walz’s record on gun safety, even as gun owners, and highlights how broadly popular common sense gun violence prevention policies are across the political spectrum. The ad script reads, in part, “These parents don’t own guns. These parents do own guns. They [Harris and Walz] own guns too. What do they all have in common? Common sense. They support common sense gun violence prevention legislation.”
Brady PAC Executive Director Ashley Lantz shared the following statement:

The vast majority of Americans—gun owners, non-gun owners, Republicans, Democrats, men, women—agree with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz that common sense gun violence prevention and we’re taking that message straight to voters we need to win.”
Harris and Walz have been gun safety champions in their positions as Vice President and Governor of Minnesota, respectively. Harris helmed the strongest gun safety administration in history, helping to pass the first gun safety bill through Congress in almost 30 years, leading the charge to ban ghost guns, and cracking down on illegal gun trafficking to keep guns out of the wrong hands. Walz, as governor, has signed legislation expanding background checks and passing red flag laws in the Gopher State.
