Brady PAC: There’s only one gun violence prevention champion on the debate stage tonight, and it’s Joe Biden.

WASHINGTON—Ahead of tonight’s presidential debate in Atlanta on CNN, Brady PAC, the political arm of Brady, released the following statement highlighting the stark differences between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

“When my daughter was killed in Parkland during the Trump administration, I had to sit there and watch as President Trump did absolutely nothing about it,” said Fred Guttenberg, father of Jaime Guttenberg who was killed in the Parkland shooting in 2018. “In Iowa after a school shooting, Trump told the community to ‘get over it.’ This is unconscionable and not what we should want from the leader of the country. Joe Biden has done more to protect our children from gun violence than any president in American history and we should send him back to the White House to finish the job.”

“You don’t have to look too hard to see two candidates who are worlds apart on keeping our communities and families safe from gun violence,” said Brady PAC executive director Ashley Lantz. “President Joe Biden has been the strongest gun safety president in American history. He signed the first major piece of gun legislation in over twenty years, made historic investments in community violence intervention, and established the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Essentially every one of these accomplishments, former President Trump has threatened to unravel if reelected. There’s only one gun violence prevention champion on the debate stage tonight, and it’s Joe Biden.”
