Brady PAC Endorses Slate of 28 Gun Violence Prevention Champions in 14 States

WASHINGTON, D.C. – With the midterm elections approaching, Brady PAC, the political action partner organization of Brady, one of the nation’s oldest gun violence prevention advocacy groups, today announced its third round of endorsements of 15 U.S. House and Senate incumbents and 13 challenger candidates (See list below).

Thanks to Brady PAC’s support, the House and Senate gun safety majority passed historic legislation addressing America’s gun violence crisis. So far in 2022, the U.S. Congress passed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act — the most comprehensive gun-safety reform since the 1994 Brady bill — and a funding bill that included more than $180 million for community violence prevention initiatives nationwide and the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

In July, the House passed an assault weapons ban for the first time since 1994 with bipartisan support, while activists have been calling on the Senate to follow suit. Just last week, the House passed the Break the Cycle of Violence Act, which establishes community violence as a public health issue and invests in evidence-based programs that are proven to break the cycles of gun violence and save lives —but we still have work to do.

“The 117th Congress has shown a glimpse of what is possible when our elected officials are unafraid to support common-sense gun reform,” said Brady PAC Interim Executive Director Ashley Lantz. “Ending gun violence is not a partisan issue, and Brady PAC is proud to support this group of candidates who will fight for safer communities and will take decisive action on America’s gun violence crisis.”

Today’s action brings the total number of endorsements by Brady PAC in the 2022 election cycle to 182 (See the prior endorsements here). Brady PAC endorsements are based on past voting history and positions taken in support of common-sense gun safety policies, and they will help attract more contributions, volunteers, and voters for the candidates’ campaigns.

About Brady PAC

Based in Washington, DC, Brady PAC is dedicated to a singular goal: creating a safer America by supporting and investing in candidates who are committed to enacting, improving, and defending Gun Violence Prevention (GVP) policies across the country. Formed leading up to the 2018 midterm elections, Brady PAC was created to serve as a counterweight to “dark money” Super PACs created by the gun industry lobby. It upholds the policy ideals that have been championed by its sister organization, Brady — one of the nation’s oldest gun violence prevention grassroots advocacy organizations. To learn more, visit
